Trust Enablement focuses on providing you the insights you need to decide on the best customer success, enablement, ops, marketing, and sales tools your customer-facing teams need to thrive. Our Certified Tech Stack is a critical component of achieving this mission. Please keep reading to learn more about our view of the technology landscape.
Every quarter, we review and update our information on these vendors, write how-to articles, and update our recommendations regarding which vendors you should consider working with based on your business challenges, industry, size, etc.
In addition, we are always learning new tools to consider for our Certified Sales Tech Stack. We will continue to add new vendors and solutions to our overall recommendations.
Want more sales, less churn, and increased revenues overall? Keep reading.
Why did we create the Certified Sales Tech Stack?
We have often seen vendors that raise the most money the fastest can pay for the best analyst coverage, buy the most positive reviews, and corner the market.
While this works great for a handful of vendors, it only leads to buyer confusion and dozens of also-rans who often provide better solutions for specific scenarios.
We want buyers to benefit from the right tools for their sales process, industry, and needs.
When this happens, everyone wins.
And we know that this improves by an independent review process that helps you differentiate vendors and solutions in our review of the overall technology landscape.

Go-to-Market Tools By Category
For the most part, we have chosen to use category names in line with standard naming in the marketplace. However, in some cases, existing category names are confusing and we have chosen to go with more descriptive names.
Our goal in defining the top sales tools is to help buyers, not create new categories, but where we have chosen otherwise we hope that it does not cause confusion.
Best Sales CRM Software
[convertkit form=3363678]What is a CRM?
A simple CRM software definition would note that CRM is short for Customer Relationship Management. Therefore, CRM is simply a software solution that helps you manage your relationship with prospects and customers.
A better CRM software definition would be, however:
CRM systems manage all data related to your potential and existing customers, tracking every communication of all opportunities discussed or sold.
In B2B (business-to-business) sales situations, your CRM will store information about the businesses you sell to and the employees you work with to prospect, sell, and later support within those businesses.
These sales tools may also be used for a variety of other tasks, including:
- Managing and enforcing your sales process.
- Storing customer data flowing in from other systems.
- Giving leaders more visibility into the sales pipeline.
- Tracking CSAT or other customer satisfaction scores from your customer success team.
- Keeping everyone aligned and on the same page.
- Use lead scoring to identify the ideal prospects to reach out to next.

The All-in-one vendor landscape category includes platforms supporting content, training, and coaching capabilities.
Similar to the Sales Content Management solutions above, these sales tools deliver on:
- Organizing the latest, up-to-date, on-brand, and compliant sales decks and other sales assets.

However, the addition of training and coaching helps salespeople:
- Empower sales to practice via video and receive feedback from sales managers asynchronously.
- Support finding on-the-spot microlearning in real-time, when they have a moment, versus having to make their way back to the office to access the corporate LMS.
And these activities often translate into actionable data back to the CRM to improve the overall sales process.

Best Customer Success Solutions
There are many customer tools in the market. This category covers those tools that integrate with the CRM to monitor customer health. Other tool categories may be added to our technology landscape if we feel that will increase understanding.
You may be surprised to find this category of tools listed alongside sales tools — you shouldn’t be.
Existing customers are far easier to sell to, and customers only remain, customers, if they are satisfied with the solutions they purchase.
This category helps sales teams and the entire go-to-market team:
- Get existing customers into the sales funnel for cross-selling and Upsell opportunities that might otherwise be missed.
- Providing sales reps with more qualified deals in the sales funnel.
- Support account-based sales motions
- Use customer interactions to identify additional use cases to support other prospects and customers.

Which vendors are currently in our Certified Sales Tech Stack?
Vendors, like people, have various attitudes and approaches.
The most prominent in the vendor landscape, who have raised a lot of money, often have less incentive to participate. Others, perhaps worried about our independent analysis, choose not to participate. Regardless of the underlying reason, these vendors are in the Non-Participating Vendors area below.
Vendors who collaborate with us to answer our questions and help differentiate the market minimally make it into the Participating Vendors area.
The top tier, Trusted Vendor, is reserved for those vendors who fearlessly believe in their products and give us open access to evaluate and write about their solutions. Their confidence in their products and their missions is inspiring.
Let’s explore the vendors on our list.
Note: The status does not imply a specific level of quality or an implicit recommendation by the team at Trust Enablement. However, those at the Trusted level have given us full access, allowing us to evaluate and make informed recommendations for working with each in specific scenarios, as seen in our offers across the site.
We have the list available by participation level (on the left) and vendor category (on the right).
Vendor Collaboration Levels
Vendor Collaboration Levels are on their Trust Enablement profile. The level, shown as a badge at the top left of their page, indicates a level of collaboration covered below.
Trusted Vendors
Here are the criteria we use for adding a vendor to the list:
- Vendors provide open access to the team to evaluate all portions of their software.
- The platform is available for ongoing testing, reviews, recommendations, and to write how-to articles for our readers.
- Respond to the questions asked for their vendor profiles.
- No NDAs are signed — the relationship is open, collaborative, transparent, and built upon trust that buyers deserve an unbiased perspective.
OR: We are paying for the solutions from the vendors. We have received more than sufficient value for our investment — enough that we find them easy to work with, providing excellent customer service, and they are crushing it to meet our business needs.
The transparency these vendors demonstrate makes them great partners for customers. We include them at the top of our technology landscape because of this transparency and because we can confirm that their market claims are accurate.
Participating Vendors
Here are the criteria we use for adding a vendor to the list:
- Respond to the questions asked for their vendor profiles.
Non-Participating Vendors
The vendor has ignored all outreach attempts to these vendors.
We include them in our vendor landscape as we feel they are a valid option for businesses to consider, despite their lack of participation, given the level of awareness they have built up related to the overall vendor landscape.
Not Yet Included Vendors
These vendors are essential to the overall vendor landscape, but we have not yet reached out to them. We include here for completeness’ sake and to assist you in awareness of available sales technology.
If there is sales technology we are not yet evaluating, and you would like us to do so, please comment on this page.
Background information to consider before you buy
Buying any technology is hard, which is why we developed our software buying guide for our readers. It contains questions for vendors, vendor references, and important tips on the selection process.
In addition to those questions and tips, consider the following.
Why buy? What problem are you solving?
What business problem are we trying to solve?
Are we looking to find the best sales tools for our SDRs or the top sales platforms for coordinating with marketing?
Maybe the best marketing tools for content creation or the top marketing technology for our email marketing efforts?
Maybe we just want branding tools to control our email signatures?
Who are you helping?
Are we attempting to answer the question for our inside sales reps or our outside sales team?
The channel?
Perhaps for our marketing teams, sales managers, or customer success?
How will you use these tool(s)?
Consider that not all marketing, customer success/service, and sales platforms offer all capabilities. You may be looking for the:
- Top sales operations tools for a startup environment
- Best sales tools for content management, curation, and delivery
- Top training solutions for the entire go-to-market team
- Top sales tools for coaching
- Best sales tools for social selling
- Best tools for document automation
- Incredible Collaboration and communication solutions
- Perfect project management tools
It doesn’t take long to determine the best sales tools for your business might be a bit more complicated than you initially hoped.
Steps to take before you buy Go-to-Market Software
For the Enablement team
If you are beginning your Enablement program or stepping back to reassess, do not rush into buying Sales Enablement platforms.
Yes, you will want one eventually, but it is far more important to first work through the following.
- Do you have a Sales Enablement Strategy in place?
- Have you analyzed your buyer’s journey? Customer’s journey? Your sales process?
- Have you identified pain points for prospects, customers, and your customer-facing teams?
- As a result of this strategy, have you pinpointed what teams you will initially focus on helping in the sales organization?
- Do you know where in the sales cycle you will focus?
- Do you have a clear picture of all sales tools used in the entire company, for what purpose, and how you want data to flow through each?
- Building on the last point, do you know where you want to pull reporting data, the correct information you require to guide your efforts, and align with IT, Operations, human resources, and other critical stakeholders on the technology teams?
Note: You are not ready at this point to evaluate potential sales enablement tools. Please read through the next section, complete it, and then you are prepared to begin your journey to identify the right Sales Enablement Software for your business.
For all teams
How well is the existing technology stack working
As you consider this question, keep in mind that you have likely identified dozens of powerful tools that your sales department and sales leaders have access to use.
You may discover many selling tools used by a handful of sales professionals, one or two key sales leaders — a waste.
For each tool, determine and document the following:
- What problems is the tool helping the business solve?
- What is the current cost?
- What % of the team is using it?
- How is it impacting sales performance (ROI)?
- Does it integrate with other pieces of your tech stack?
You are likely to identify many tools that can be consolidated, tossed out, or optimized to take advantage of a broader set of features than you currently are using.
Too often, when we look across an entire organization, we find tool duplication, tool underutilization, and lack of integration across tools, meaning you are not optimizing your investment.
The result?
Dozens of tools lead to isolated sales data pockets from which you cannot make intelligent decisions – a recipe for sub-optimal performance.
This technology sprawl is a problem for businesses of all sizes; you are not alone.
Note: You should perform this analysis at least once a year to optimize your technology investment in selling platforms.
How do you determine the right Go-to-Market Technology for you?
Also, consider:
- How much time are they currently selling versus entering data into the customer relationship management (CRM) platforms?
- How much time is your sales force spending searching for content or training?
- How much time are team members investing in creating custom decks?
- Are your sales managers spending sufficient time coaching their teams?
And, yes, this is but a small handful of questions to consider.
