Trainual Review and Walkthrough
For this walkthrough, we’ll play the role of John Moore, brand new sales consultant at Dunder Mifflin, the paper supplier to the stars.
As you can see from the Trainual org chart, I work for Jim Halpert in the local branch.
Let’s navigate to my Trainual home screen, where Jim and the team have set me up with the training and other content I need to be successful in the new role.
Note: I am running through this as an admin, so you will see the screens as editable, which is not how standard users view things.
My Desk
You can see that my onboarding materials are laid out for me in the Up Next area, so I’ll dive right into the “Sales 101” content to start. I could go in order or jump around, and I want to dive into the information.
From here, I can watch videos from the team, see their photos, read their bios, and any other information the team has packaged up for my onboarding experience.
I even learn a bit more than I wanted about beet farming, providing me with unique insights about my teammates.
As I scroll to the bottom of the page, I’ll make the page complete to indicate that I have read the material. The team could have included knowledge checks, but having me confirm that I’ve read it is sufficient for some of the material presented.
Since I know my teammates better, I’ll jump back to the My Desk section in Trainual to continue with my onboarding.
Note that we are now 14% complete with our onboarding assignments (see the completions chart), and the user interface reminds me that I left off on the Pricing and Packages page (I had navigated there after meeting my teammates).
As I scroll down the My Desk page, I can also see all the onboarding topics in another layout, which may work better for me.
Now, let’s navigate to the Company Section.
In the Company section, I found all content and materials related to the company itself.
In this example, items like an introduction to Dunder Mifflin, information on company culture, etc., are available.
The Policies and Processes Sections
I’ve decided to learn more about our company’s sales processes, so I jump down to processes and look for the documentation available.
Fortunately, I found a lot of good information and decided to check out the Outbound Sales process document that Phylis put together.
My fellow sales teammates have this information assigned to them, easily accessible to my fellow sellers and me.
I need to get certified in
our sales process, so I open the section using the down arrow icon.
There is a lot of material here for me to learn; I’ll start by clicking on “Step 1: Prospecting” to start consuming the information.
I review all of the materials, including videos from Dwight that have nothing to do with sales…
He is going to be an interesting person to work with…
When I finish the material, I now open the knowledge check
The test content is a mix of multiple choice style questions.
I’m ready to tackle outbound selling at Dunder Mifflin!
